Boss Grant & The Johnny Cash Revue
 |
Media: Flash VIdeo
Boss Grant has been in the music world since 1971, singing and playing his guitars and traveling across the country in a variety of groups. He traveled with a gospel quartet back in the 70's and it was with this group that he met his wife, Lynn. Boss has been involved with other groups over the years and has enjoyed using his many musical talents on stage. His portrayal of Johnny Cash as he sings and plays his guitar, is a testimony of his singing talent. Boss has always been a fan of the Man in Black and truly honors Johnny's memories as he sings and plays all of the songs Johnny is so well known for. While performing on stage, Boss brings to life the memories of the Man in Black, as no other singer does. He puts his heart and soul in to the Johnny Cash Revue tribute band, making it an experience you will not soon forget. |

Boss Grant's wife, Lynn, does all the keyboard work for the group, adding such sounds as brass and strings. It would be a disappointment to attend a Johnny Cash Revue show and not hear the brass intro to "Ring of Fire" or the beautiful string section on "Flesh and Blood". She doesn't just play these songs, she plays them to perfection, just as you would hear them on Johnny's original recordings. In addition to keyboard, Lynn sings background vocals adding to the fullness of the sound of the group. Lynn is no stranger to stage work and musical touring. Boss and Lynn toured together in a gospel group before they were married. After they were married, they continued touring together until their first son was born. Lynn took a break from touring while raising their 5 boys. She is now back on the road with Boss and the rest of the group. |

When you compare with any other Johnny Cash tribute show, Deena is quite possibly the finest June Carter look alike you'll find. She formerly lived and worked in Burbank, California for 6 years, working as an extra in many film and television roles and has also done some modeling. This becomes apparent when you see her great stage appeal in our shows. Not surprising, she is a real fan favorite everywhere we go! Deena and her husband Kevin have 2 daughters and currently live in the St. Paul area. |

Knox Rivers is a rare find indeed. He is the true country boy in the show. Originally from North Carolina, Knox comes from an extremely talented musical family. Knox plays a perfect Luther Perkins, who as everyone knows is Johnny's original guitar player.. If you love the Johnny Cash sound, come and hear Knox play it and find out why he is such a huge addition to the heart and soul of Johnny Cash Revue. Knox also adds to the background vocals and is the cousin of Joe and Phil. |
|
Phil Grant has double bass duties for our shows. Not only does he play his stand up bass fiddle for our classic sets, but he handles the vintage four string electric bass guitar as well. Anyone that has seen Marshall Grant playing bass guitar for Johnny Cash as the Tennessee Three, will see the striking resemblance when Phil is performing on stage. In addition to his double bass duties, Phil arranges the background vocals for the group and is the son of Boss and Lynn Grant. |
|
Joe Grant is not new to the music scene. He traveled as the bass guitarist for the nationally known "Ace Troubleshooter", along with other groups under the record label of Tooth and Nail. We are so proud to feature him on the drums. In addition to drums, Joe does background vocals and harmonica. The show would not be complete without the beat that comes from the drum section. Joe is the stage manager of the group and is the son of Boss and Lynn Grant. |
